      Adventure. Another fairly easy category to grasp, Indiana Jones, Around the World in 80 Days, Titanic, Matrix, Robin Hood, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, to name a ure stories are usually heroic (even when the character is ordinary), fast paced with lots of action, overcoming larger-than-life obstacles, and take us to exotic places.   The narrative structure of a novel encompasses more than the plot line: the beginning (the exposition, inciting incident, and complication), the middle (rising action and climax) and the end (resolution and denouement). Structure is architecture.

    Don’t tell students which text structure they are going to be reading about. Show students the Nonfiction Text Structures Information Page (L_Nonfiction Text Structures Information ) that has been re-created on the board/chart paper/interactive whiteboard.
