It's a fine story, interesting, well written. But it's not a Nero Wolfe book. I spent 3/4 of the book waiting for Archie to enter the story, which of course he never did, because it's /5(56).

Order of In Death Books In Death is a series of novels by American author J.D. Robb (otherwise known as Nora Roberts). The series is set in the midst century and centers around the New York Police and Security Department – in particular Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke.

Teaching doubles with a math and literature connection is a wonderful way to introduce the concept. Minnie's Diner is a delightful and funny book about the five McFay brothers who are so tempted by the smells coming from the diner that they stop working and go inside for some food.

A more stark contrast between doubles is presented in the book's two primary female characters: Lucie and Madame Defarge. Lucie is the Victorian ideal of womanhood. She is selfless and nurturing. Below are all deaths – murder victims, murder investigations, and others – that occur in the span of the In Death books, including weapon, cause of death, and the perpetrator.

This list does not include any attacks on persons that do not result in death. Naked in Death was the first of J.D. Robb’s “In Death” series, published in It wasn’t much of a hit back then, though received acclaim from the Gothic Journal. The term they used was “a unique blend of hardcore police drama, science fiction and passionate romance”.

That is one heck of a review to receive for a first book. State health department surveys s nursing home beds are lying empty this year, 13, more than expected — an increase of almost double the official state nursing home death.

I really liked this book, Double Death. It is the story of Pryce Lewis, a immigrant from Britain, who becomes a Pinkerton Detective and eventually a Pinkerton spy for the north during the civil war. For me, there were a few surprises, one being Lincoln's supposed assassination attempt as he journeyed to Washington and the part Pinkerton played /5(17).

This book was published in Portugal in the 50's or 60's under the name of «Morte Dupla» (Double Death) in «Colecção Vampiro» a great collection of detective stories in that time, by the editor «Livros do Brasil». I bought it in a bookscout a couple of years ago, and read it, just because I was in a mood to crime stories at that time/5(5).

Nor will it emphasize that Cuomo's own actions contributed to many of those deaths. I borrowed Double for Death eBook from the Toronto Public Library, virtual branch, thinking it was a Nero Wolfe mystery, not knowing Rex Stout had written another series starring a different kind of detective called "Tecumseh Fox." A bit of a surprise when I read the Introduction and discovered not Nero Wolfe.

But I had been looking for a new series to try, so this was rather serendipitous!4/5(35). Double-Booked for Death (Black Cat Bookshop Mystery, #1), A Novel Way to Die (Black Cat Bookshop Mystery, #2), Words With Fiends (Black Cat Bookshop Mys.
